Cake Smash

I met Darren & Laura Damm a year ago when they hired me to take newborn photos of their daughter Dakota. At the same time, we also took photos of their 5 year old daughter Danica. Over the course of the last year I have been blessed with the opportunity to see Danica and Dakota for additional sessions and it is always fun to see how much the children grow. Not only are they beautiful little girls, they are so sweet and well behaved. When Laura contacted me regarding a birthday session, I was excited and tickled pink!

But, she said... we are not using pink!

Danica is turning 6 and Dakota will be 1, both born in March. When Laura and I started brainstorming ideas as to the theme and what colors we should use, she had in mind cream and gold. She bought the girls beautiful antique cream dresses with gold beading. Since Laura is a Pampered Chef consultant, she decided she was going to "attempt" to make the cake. Let me just tell you, my jaw dropped when I saw how beautiful and perfect the cake turned out! She definitely "Nailed It!"
