USS LETYE GULF CG 55 Homecoming

The USS LETYE GULF (CG 55), a Guided Missile Cruiser returned to homeport of Norfolk, Virginia after a 7 month deployment assisting with maritime security operations. Families and friends gathered at the pier anxiously awaiting for the ship to pull in. While waiting, my clients were interviewed by the various local news channels covering the story.

As a military spouse experiencing 10 deployments myself, I know the importance and the emotions behind homecoming day! The return of your loved one marks a sense of accomplishment, gives hope and a completion to a job well done. As a photographer, its a whirlwind of material to capture the candid heartfelt emotions of families and loved ones reuniting. This homecoming experience was chock full of surprises! There was so much love and excitement in the air unfolding right before my eyes (and I was camera ready)!

It's a tradition to allow any of the new dads off the ship first to meet their children born while deployed. Cheers and tears broke out as this new father got to meet his daughter for the very first time.

Another custom is that the Family Readiness Group has a drawing for the "First Kiss". This first kiss wound up turning into a surprise proposal and she said "YES"!

A Commanding officer and his wife were excited to see their son Josh return. It was an honor to see him salute his dad as he disembarked the ship!

Fox Photography LLC would like to welcome home all of the Sailors to their families! Thanks for serving our country!
